Jim Gary Philipps was born in 1951 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky and lives there today with his wife Norma Jean. He has had a variety of jobs including construction worker, farmer, tobacco auctioneer and ran a bar-b-que restaurant for a while. His work is acrylic on wooden cabinet doors. He uses a white out pen for lettering his text, which can be poems he has written, old songs, Bible verses or stories of lcal event. In perfect condition, ready to hang, signed and I bought it directly from Jim Gary. Jim Gary is repersented at the Kentucky Artisan Center and is in the Kentucky Folk Art Center in Morehead Kentucky.
