iOS 11 Compatibility: Check out which Device will Support the OS and which will Not

Just like every year, Apple is again all set to launch a new operating system for their coveted smartphone series. The Cupertino-based tech giant is famous for launching a new smartphone along with other devices, like iPads and iPods. But the fans eagerly wait for the operating system on which these devices run. Apple unveiled the latest operating system iOS 10 last year during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) which was held in June. And since its inception, the iOS 10 has made both the fans as well as the experts very excited with its unique features.  

Talking about the features, the US-based tech giant has incorporated many changes in the iOS 10, such as updates Siri, water detection technology, enriched Apple Pay and Apple Maps, updated lock screen notifications and many more. So now the fans are literally hankering for the next installment of this amazing operating system iOS 11 to be released as soon as possible. Much like the previous year, Apple is all set to release the new operating system during the WWDC event. iOS 11 Compatibility: iPhones

If you are using an iPhone 5 or above smartphone, then you are perfectly capable of using the iOS 10 in your handset. But, the iOS 11 compatibility issue is going to change. The iOS 11 will only support those devices which fall under the iPhone 5S or above series. So if you are unsure about whether your iPhone will be compatible with the forthcoming iOS 11 or not, just go to the “Settings” of your Apple handset and click on the “About Phone” option. Here you will find the option to check your iPhone’s model number as well as whether it will be compatible with iOS 11 or not. Below is the list of the iOS 11 compatible iPhones:

  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 5s

Not to mention the upcoming iPhone which will be unveiled in the coming September will also be iOS 11 compatible.

iOS 11 Compatibility: iPads

Just like the iPhones, the compatibility for the iPads is also going to be altered for the iOS 11. Earlier, the iOS 10 supports iPad Mini 2 and above models. But the upcoming operating system will only support the iPad Mini 3 and the above models. Below is the list of the iPads which will support the iOS 11:

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch
  • iPad Pro 9.7-inch
  • The iPad Air 2
  • iPad Air
  • iPad 4th generation
  • The iPad Mini 4
  • The iPad Mini 3

The upcoming iPads will also be compatible with the iOS 11.

Just like the previous version, iOS 11 will only support the iPod Touch 6th Generation.
